The activity, titled The Reading That Unites Us, is part of the Book Fair and was organized with the goal of creating a space where different generations can interact and enrich each other through literature.
“"An enriching activity that allows us to mix profiles of different ages, cultures, and beliefs, thus exchanging knowledge, experiences, and ideas."
The initiative stems from a commitment to literature and the belief that shared reading strengthens bonds between people. The originality of the proposal was highlighted, where children recommend books to adults, reversing traditional roles and aiming for this dynamic to become a stable part of the cultural program.
The event was conceived as a pilot experience with the support of the Caja Rural Granada Foundation, structured into two sessions. In the first, students from IES Alhambra participated in a bibliotherapy workshop, offering readings to alleviate stress, loneliness, and anxiety. They were joined by schoolchildren from CEIP Juan Ramón Jiménez, including finalists from the Little Reading Giants competition, who read for seniors from associations and day centers.
In the second part, adult readers shared texts with primary school students from centers such as CEIP Vicente Aleixandre and CDP Ciudad de los Niños. The event featured literary and educational figures, establishing itself as a space for exchange and transmission of reading as a shared intergenerational experience.
