The competition, promoted by the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación de Granada, and organized by the Andalusian Athletics Federation, is part of the World Athletics calendar with 'Challenger' status. This event is crucial for athletes as it offers an opportunity to break personal records and achieve the minimum qualifying marks required by EA for the upcoming European Championships in Birmingham.
Among the confirmed participants are renowned athletes such as María Pérez, Ignacio Fontes, Dani Rodriguez, Una Stancev, and the Sevillian sprinter Maribel Pérez, who holds the national record for the 60 meters and one of the best historical times in the 100 meters.
“"This makes this meeting much more than a competition; it will be a day of high sporting level, emotion, and opportunities, where we will see athletes fight for their dreams on a track that is once again consolidated as a venue for great events."
The meeting will take place on the track recently named in honor of double Olympic medalist and world race walking champion, María Pérez. Delegate Rodríguez emphasized the event's significance and thanked the Andalusian Federation, clubs, coaches, and athletes, highlighting Granada's role as a sporting hub capable of hosting top-level international competitions.
The competition is scheduled from 18:00 to 21:00, with free entry until full capacity. The president of the Andalusian Athletics Federation, Enrique López, also expressed gratitude for the Junta de Andalucía's commitment to quality athletics at the Estadio de la Juventud.
