The city of Granada is hosting the third edition of 'Noches en los Patios del Boquerón' (Nights in the Boquerón Patios), a cultural series featuring live music and poetry on April Fridays, spearheaded by the neighborhood's residents' association.
This project, presented at the City Council, aims to transform the Boquerón neighborhood into a cultural landmark within the city, fostering social cohesion and bringing culture closer to its citizens. For three consecutive Fridays in April, various venues will host poetry recitals and musical performances that have already garnered significant public interest, with previous editions attracting over a hundred attendees at each event.

"These types of initiatives perfectly represent the cultural model we envision for Granada: an open, participatory culture that originates from the neighborhoods. Where we will highlight spaces like the patios, many of them unknown even to Granadians themselves, it is a way to rediscover our city through culture."
The program kicks off on Friday, April 10, at Patio Arriola nº 4 with poetry by Miguel Ángel Angulo and music by Granada Band. It continues on Friday, April 17, in the courtyard of the Hotel Santa Paula with Jorge de la Chica and the voice of Ahinara Egea. The series culminates on Friday, April 24, in the courtyard of the Faculty of Social Work with a musical and poetic tribute to the legacy of Carlos Cano. All activities will take place at 8:00 PM with free admission until full capacity is reached.
Councillor Saavedra also emphasized the importance of these projects in the journey towards becoming the European Capital of Culture 2031, as they reflect the direct involvement of citizens, a fundamental pillar of their candidacy. He expressed gratitude for the collaboration of the Boquerón neighborhood residents' association and the Citizen Participation department.

"We have been working with enthusiasm for three years to make our neighborhood a cultural reference in Granada, opening our patios, intimate spaces full of history, to the entire city. Furthermore, these poetic musical nights are an invitation to coexist, to enjoy, and to feel culture from within, with a public response that exceeds our expectations every year."
Beyond the scheduled events, 'Noches en los Patios del Boquerón' represents a way of understanding culture as a tool for cohesion, participation, and discovery. The opening of private and public patios facilitates an encounter between the intimate and the collective, tradition and contemporary creation, offering citizens the opportunity to rediscover their city from new perspectives.
