High temperatures continue to affect the province of Granada at the start of July. Alongside Jaén, it is one of the two Andalusian provinces with a yellow alert for heat this Saturday. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts that the mercury will continue to rise in the coming days, reaching maximums above 40 degrees.
This Saturday, the Granada regions of Guadix and Baza, as well as Cazorla and Segura in Jaén, will be under a yellow heat alert between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Maximum temperatures of 38 and 39 degrees are expected respectively in these areas.
Minimum temperatures in the province of Granada will remain around 20 degrees, indicating tropical nights where sleeping will be difficult without the aid of fans or air conditioning.
Sunday is also anticipated to be torrid, with expected maximum temperatures of 37 degrees and minimums of 20 degrees in the province of Granada.
The trend of high temperatures will continue into the following week. On Monday, Aemet forecasts maximums of 37 degrees and minimums of 17. On Tuesday, an increase is expected, with maximums of 39 degrees and minimums rising to 21.
From Wednesday onwards, temperatures will exceed 40 degrees. Thermometers are predicted to reach this figure, with minimums of 23 degrees, anticipating another hot night. On Thursday and Friday, maximums could reach 41 degrees, with minimums ranging between 23 and 24 degrees.
Given this outlook, fans, air conditioning, and hand fans are set to become essential allies for residents and visitors in the province of Granada during the upcoming week.
