This project, included in the municipal educational offer for the 2025/2026 academic year, is aimed at students in the First Cycle of Compulsory Secondary Education and Permanent Education. Its main objective is to foster knowledge of Lorca's legacy from a dynamic, participatory, and interdisciplinary perspective, as explained by the Councillor for Education, Employment, and Equality.
“"This program represents a firm commitment to education that goes beyond theoretical content, bringing our students closer to one of Granada's most universal figures through the experience of getting to know him firsthand and delving into his life and work in a completely different way, from emotion."
The initiative, free for schools, consists of an itinerant workshop-show led by the Bambino Teatro company. For 60 minutes, students actively participate in activities that combine interpretation, music, dramatized reading, and reflection, seeking comprehensive artistic education.
The program covers the different stages of Federico García Lorca's life (childhood, youth, maturity, and death), as well as the places and people linked to them. It addresses his work from multiple disciplines such as literature, theater, music, and historical memory. Students work with texts from Romancero gitano, participate in dramatized readings of works like Bodas de sangre or La casa de Bernarda Alba, and reflect on universal values such as freedom, identity, tradition, and social justice.
The councillor emphasized the importance of students interacting with Lorca's work, interpreting it, and reflecting on it, thereby developing key competencies and a critical and creative outlook. She also highlighted that this initiative aligns with Granada's bid to become the European Capital of Culture in 2031, showcasing one of the fundamental pillars of its cultural identity to new generations.
Eleven workshops are planned for the second and third trimesters of the academic year, with the participation of eleven educational centers in Granada, establishing itself as a valuable pedagogical tool for teachers and students.
