Under the theme 'Así que pasen cinco años' (So Five Years Pass), the fair strengthens its pedagogical aspect with a program that includes workshops, literary encounters, inclusive proposals, and interdisciplinary activities. These initiatives, conducted during school hours, are driven by an extensive network of cultural and educational agents in the province.
Among the most notable activities, the 'La lectura que nos une' (The Reading That Unites Us) encounter will take place on Monday, April 20, at the Auditorio Caja Rural de Granada. This pioneering intergenerational initiative will bring together schoolchildren, young people, and seniors to share the experience of reading. The event, conceived as a pilot project with the support of the Fundación Caja Rural Granada, will be structured into two sessions. In the first, students from educational centers will read for seniors from associations and day centers, including finalists from the 'Pequeños Gigantes de la Lectura' (Little Reading Giants) competition. In the second, adult readers will share texts with Primary school students.
“"This encounter is designed as a space for exchange, listening, and transmitting reading as a shared experience between generations."
On Book Day, April 23, the Manuel de Falla Award will be presented, an event organized by the Territorial Delegation of Educational Development and Vocational Training, the Pedagogical Cabinet of Fine Arts, and the Network of School Libraries, sponsored by El Corte Inglés.
In addition to this central event, the school program will run between April 23 and April 30 around the Fuente de las Batallas and Fuente de las Granadas, with activities adapted to each educational stage. These include proposals such as 'Lara Cruz y el barco desaparecido' (Lara Cruz and the Missing Ship) by Cuentos con valores, 'El amuleto de Fátima' (Fatima's Amulet) and writing and music workshops promoted by the Euro-Arab Foundation, an inclusive storytelling session by CEIP Sierra Nevada and the Granada School Libraries Network, and scientific dissemination initiatives like 'Abecedario urbano' (Urban Alphabet) promoted by the University of Granada.
The program also offers interdisciplinary experiences such as 'La música de las esferas' (The Music of the Spheres), activities on cultural identity like 'Los colores de EVANO' (The Colors of EVANO), and participatory proposals for Secondary education, such as a literary scavenger hunt. Additionally, initiatives like 'Escritoras pioneras del feminismo: María Goyri' (Pioneering Feminist Writers: María Goyri), promoted by the Association of Publishers of Andalusia and the Equality Area of the Granada City Council, are included. All activities are free, require prior registration, and have limited capacity, prioritizing preferred care centers.
