The Local Government Board has submitted to the Plenary the file for the final approval of the detailed study for a sports facility plot, located next to Tico Medina Park. After the public information period concluded without objections, the project plans for the construction of sports facilities, a senior center, and a green area in this part of Granada.
Mayor Marifrán Carazo highlighted that this initiative responds to neighborhood demands, aiming for a Granada that is "greener, better equipped, and with more functional planning." The goal is to plan a city that meets the current and future needs of its neighborhoods with improved facilities and higher urban quality.
The area of action covers a 11,457 square meter plot in sector PP-S1, between La Malahá street and Tico Medina Park. This environment, "fully urbanized and consolidated," has experienced significant residential growth, making it necessary to adapt the plot's planning for future development.
The document reorganizes building volumes, defines implantation areas, and sets maximum heights: two floors for the sports facility (60% of the plot) and four for the community facility (40%). It also incorporates a private perimeter green zone and new shade tree plantings.
Carazo stated that the new planning "maintains the intended urban use, without increasing authorized buildability or altering the fundamental parameters of the current planning." The Detailed Study aims to provide the space with a "more functional and flexible planning" to facilitate the development of the future facility.
