The province of Granada will offer 19,910 Vocational Training (FP) places for the 2026/2027 academic year, a notable increase aimed at boosting youth employability and adapting training to labor market demands.

The Regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía) has planned an offering of 19,910 Vocational Training (FP) places for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year in the province of Granada. This figure represents a 65.39% increase compared to 2018, according to data from the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training.
In total, 433 training cycles and specialization courses will be available, including 13 entirely new programs. These additions address the needs of strategic sectors such as healthcare, metalworking, security, transport, and agriculture, aiming to improve youth employability and align training with local industry demands.
The province is positioned as an expansion hub for the new professional field of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. The IES Zaidín-Vergeles in Granada will introduce two specialization courses: 'Machine Learning: Data Management and Training' and 'Machine Learning: System Installation, Deployment, and Operation'. This reinforces the capital's role as a reference point in technology and the knowledge economy.
Other new offerings include specialization courses in traditional and high-demand sectors, such as 'Mastery of Curing and Tasting Ham and Cured Shoulder' at the CPIFP Hurtado de Mendoza, strengthening the link between FP and the province's agri-food sector. The offerings are diversified across several municipalities with new programs in healthcare, mechanical manufacturing, physical and sports activities, and personal image.

"This incorporation is excellent news for Granada and a testament to the Junta de Andalucía's commitment to training linked to sectors with the greatest capacity for growth and job creation."

The Mayoress of Granada · Marifrán Carazo
The Mayoress of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, highlighted the importance of the new AI and Big Data offerings, noting that the city is consolidating itself as a national leader in this field. She emphasized the need to train qualified professionals locally to prevent talent drain and strengthen the knowledge economy.
The Junta de Andalucía stresses that this expansion of places not only meets educational demand but also aims to retain population, boost local employment, and facilitate complete training pathways within the province of Granada. The application period for these FP places remains open until June 30 and is conducted online.
