The Civil Guard received an alert from Aena warning of a supposed "explosion" at the airport facilities. Faced with the situation, officers activated the action protocol around 2:40 PM and proceeded with the preventive evacuation of about fifty passengers from a flight.
Following the evacuation of the affected area, specialists from GEDEX (Explosives Disposal Group) and the K9 Unit, with dogs trained in explosive detection, conducted a thorough inspection. The personnel confirmed that the facilities were normal and ruled out any threat, concluding that it was a false alarm.
The incident had minimal impact on airport operations, causing only a slight delay in one flight's departure. The Civil Guard has launched an investigation to determine the origin of the alert that prompted the activation of the security measures.
