The Supreme Court has confirmed a 10-year prison sentence for an individual who fired shots at a moving vehicle on the streets of Granada, endangering the lives of its occupants, including a minor.

The Supreme Court has upheld the 10-year prison sentence imposed on a man for firing three shots at the rear of a car on a street in Granada. The aim was to kill one of the four occupants of the vehicle, with whom the convicted man and his acquaintances had prior disputes.
This ruling from the High Court represents a reduction from the initial sentence of 12 and a half years handed down by the Audiencia de Granada, which found him guilty of four attempted homicide offenses and illegal possession of a firearm. This penalty had already been reduced to 10 years by the High Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) following an appeal by the convicted man.
The convicted man argued before the Supreme Court various violations of the right to defense and the accusatory principle, but the cassation court only partially upheld one of his arguments, thus validating the Andalusian court's sentence.
The events occurred when the accused, without a valid firearms license, fired several shots into the air and subsequently three shots at the rear of the car carrying the four estranged individuals. One of the bullets hit a minor among the occupants, causing serious injuries that required surgical intervention.
The Audiencia de Granada initially sentenced him to 12 and a half years in prison, in addition to a fine and a restraining order. The TSJA partially revoked this sentence by acquitting him of one of the attempted homicides, reducing the penalty to 10 years. The Supreme Court, while acknowledging a breach of the accusatory principle, has maintained the 10-year sentence and the rest of the rulings, including the conviction for illegal possession of a firearm.
