The General Board of the organization has ratified the entry of the CSIC as a full member. This partnership aims to boost research and innovation as cornerstones of the Granada candidacy, providing the project with greater national and international reach.
With this addition, the CSIC joins existing consortium members, including the Granada City Council, the Provincial Council, the University of Granada, and the Chamber of Commerce. The inclusion of the scientific institution strengthens the province's knowledge ecosystem, which includes key centers such as the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia.
During the same session, the 2027 budget was approved, totaling 1,042,852 euros. This funding is primarily supported by contributions from the Granada City Council and the Provincial Council, supplemented by in-kind contributions from the University of Granada and the Chamber of Commerce, bringing total institutional support to over 1.4 million euros.
These resources will enable the development of the candidacy's initial strategic actions, including cultural programming, communication campaigns, promotional activities, and new collaboration initiatives with the local creative sector.
