A total of 55,768 incidents were managed by the 112 emergency service in the province of Granada in the first six months of the year, representing an 8.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
The most common reason for contacting the single emergency number was for health assistance, with 26,877 cases. This is followed by incidents related to public safety, which amounted to 7,921.
Other frequent call reasons include traffic incidents (5,383), emergencies involving animals (3,258), traffic accidents (2,676), and fires (2,320). There were also 1,061 calls for anomalies in basic services, 925 for rescue and salvage operations, and 843 requests for social services.
Compared to other Andalusian provinces, Granada ranks as the fourth in terms of managed incidents, behind Seville (114,546), Málaga (98,714), and Cádiz (58,487).
The busiest time for the 112 control rooms is between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, with an average of 149 incidents managed per hour. The month with the highest volume of calls was January, with 10,008 coordinated emergencies.
112 is a free, public European service available 24 hours a day to handle health, fire and rescue, public safety, and civil protection emergencies.
