The city of Granada will witness a solar eclipse covering 95.8% of the solar disk. The astronomical phenomenon will begin its partial phase at 7:42 PM, according to data provided by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
The moment of maximum darkness, the totality of the eclipse, is scheduled for 8:37 PM. After this point, the sun will begin to reappear gradually, marking the start of the end of the total phase. The eclipse will officially conclude at 9:28 PM.
However, the complete visibility of the eclipse in Granada will be affected by sunset. Sunset is expected at 9:09 PM, which will prevent observation of the final part of the phenomenon once the sun disappears below the horizon.
The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities warns of the serious ocular risk involved in looking directly at the sun without adequate protection during the partial phases. Irreversible retinal damage can occur.
The use of certified ISO 12312-2 approved glasses, specifically designed for safe solar eclipse observation, is strongly recommended. Conventional sunglasses or other methods do not protect against eye injuries.
