The investigation, which began last December, focused on a network that introduced large volumes of hashish along the eastern coast of Granada using high-speed boats. The drugs were subsequently stored in secure locations before distribution.
In mid-March, cameras from the Integrated External Surveillance System (SIVE) detected a fast vessel approaching the coast. This triggered a police operation that intercepted the unloading of bales on a beach, although those involved initially managed to escape. After securing the merchandise and conducting a search of the area, four members of the organization were arrested.
Subsequently, with judicial authorization, seven searches were carried out in homes, farms, and warehouses in the provinces of Granada and Almería. In total, 72 bales of hashish, weighing nearly 3,000 kilograms, were seized. Additionally, a modified shotgun, two handguns, an air rifle, and seven vehicles were confiscated.
The organization's modus operandi involved bringing drugs from Morocco, landing them on the coast of Granada, hiding them temporarily, and then transporting them to Europe disguised in various forms of transport for sale. The operation also included a financial investigation into money laundering, requesting the blocking of assets valued at over 500,000 euros.
The ten arrested individuals face charges for drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal organization, illegal possession of weapons, theft and use of a motor vehicle, and falsification of public documents. Five of them have already been remanded in custody. The Civil Guard has highlighted this seizure as one of the largest hashish confiscations carried out on the coasts of Granada in recent years.
