The event, which took place last weekend, received highly positive feedback from artisans, creators, and designers, who praised the excellent organization and the high public participation in the various scheduled activities.
The fair's success was evident in the significant turnout of visitors from different parts of Spain and Portugal, including cities such as Málaga, Córdoba, Jaén, Almería, Alicante, Ciudad Real, Albacete, and Sao Bras de Alportel.
Crearte Granada DIY stands out for its innovative approach, breaking away from traditional fair formats by encouraging active public participation and prioritizing practical training. Over three days, the fair offered a comprehensive program with more than 80 stands, twenty exhibitions, and nearly 50 workshops on techniques such as patchwork, sewing, and scrapbooking.
One of the main attractions was the Crearte fashion runway, featuring designers like José Perea and Carmen Pastor, as well as prominent brands such as Corporazione delle Arti, My Granny, Primores, and Caos de Patchwork. The Encuentro de Encaje de Bolillos Ciudad de Granada, organized in collaboration with the Asociación La Sabika, and the V Foro de Acolchado y Aguja, coordinated by Isabel Colilles, also generated considerable interest.
The event provided a platform for national and international artists, including Estela Mota, Reiko Kato, Bistra Pisancheva, Mercedes Moreno Alcalá, Ana Helena Abreu, Asunción Bada, and Sandra Ruano, as well as collectives like France Patchwork, the Asociación Ucraniana de Patchwork, and the Xenperlar workshop from Errenteria.
The organizers of Crearte Granada DIY emphasize the crucial role of women artisans in preserving and transmitting traditional sewing techniques, many of whom have successfully launched businesses that ensure the continuity of these crafts. Following this edition's success, Fermasa has confirmed that the 16th edition of the fair will take place from April 9 to 11, 2027, aiming to further consolidate its growth and position in the sector.
