The municipal group's spokesperson indicated that this problem, traditionally concentrated in historical areas, is now spreading uncontrollably through the heart of the capital and the Virgen neighborhood, where facades are covered with scratches, signatures, and phrases.
After a tour of the Albaicín, the political group confirmed that the situation is not only failing to improve but is expanding to other central areas and heritage-rich neighborhoods.
“"The paralysis of the local government is evident, and we have been warning for two years about the deterioration that this practice entails for Granada's heritage."
Impunity in the streets is total, which has generated deep indignation among citizens, reflected daily on social media. Adding to this problem is a worrying trend among tourists, who are recording themselves making graffiti on the city's walls.
Given this situation, the opposition has urged the municipal government to abandon its inaction and urgently implement strong information and deterrence campaigns. They have called for a comprehensive plan combining cleaning, education, and new dissuasive regulations to combat these acts of vandalism.
Finally, the spokesperson criticized the attitude of the regional government, pointing out that a recent campaign by the Junta de Andalucía to promote Andalusian heritage precisely uses the technique and aesthetics of micro-graffiti, a fact that had already been a subject of reproach by the socialists.
