The collaboration, formalized through a new agreement, guarantees support for the OCG's artistic and cultural activities during the 2026-2027 season. This alliance underscores the entity's commitment to promoting culture, backing one of the city's most emblematic institutions during a period of significant importance.
The agreement includes financial provision for the orchestra's activities throughout its season. Additionally, it covers the sponsorship of five concerts: four from the symphonic series, three conducted by the principal conductor Lucas Macías and one by honorary conductor Josep Pons, along with the traditional family concert of Popular Carols from Around the World, a Christmas event in which the Fundación Caja Rural Granada has participated since its first edition.
“"Our firm commitment to culture and music, as well as to a fully consolidated institution and an undisputed benchmark in the cultural landscape of Granada."
The management of the Fundación Caja Rural Granada has expressed satisfaction with the renewal of this collaboration, emphasizing that this alliance gains even greater meaning in a crucial year for Granada's progress towards becoming the European Capital of Culture. This objective, supported by the Foundation, requires the involvement and joint effort of all institutions, entities, and social agents.
Furthermore, it has been highlighted that the support for the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada extends beyond mere cultural backing, as it contributes to enriching the city's cultural life, fostering local talent, and projecting Granada's image both nationally and internationally. The OCG, founded in 1990, is a classical symphony orchestra that has alternated its activities in Granada with significant appearances both within and outside Spain.
