The Civil Guard has brought two young men, aged 20 and 27, before the court as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health for drug trafficking. The events took place on June 21, around 00:30 hours, when a patrol was conducting citizen security operations on the GR3424 road, within the municipality of Cogollos de la Vega.
The officers observed a vehicle stopped on the side of the road, in an area without public lighting. As they approached, they saw one of the occupants exit the vehicle and remove a black bag from inside. Upon noticing the police presence, the individual fled on foot, carrying the bag towards an adjacent vegetated area.
The patrol attempted to apprehend him while requesting backup from other officers. Despite the officers' instructions, the man ignored the orders and ran through a thicket of brambles, discarding the bag within them. Finally, officers managed to detain him and recover the bag's contents: 5.73 kilograms of dried marijuana buds.
