The Andalusian Government has demonstrated its strong commitment to developing the judicial capital of Andalusia, with a particular focus on the Province of Granada. Significant progress has been emphasized in the construction of the future City of Justice, a project aimed at providing the province with modern and adequate facilities.
The acquisition of the building known as El Cubo, with an investment of 21 million euros, marks the beginning of this ambitious project. The plan includes the tender for works between 2026 and 2027, following the submission of the basic project. Furthermore, the transfer of an adjacent plot will allow for the construction of a second already designed building, thus consolidating the judicial complex.
In parallel, other important actions in the province have been highlighted, such as the renovation of the judicial building in La Caleta and the sale of the former Bank of Spain for 9 million euros. These funds will be entirely allocated to new infrastructures, within a plan that prioritizes accessibility, sustainability, and energy efficiency in all judicial districts of the province.
Among the improvements is the imminent completion of the new judicial headquarters in Órgiva, with an investment exceeding 5.6 million euros, which will quadruple the available space for judicial bodies. In Almuñécar, judicial activity has been centralized in a single adapted building, following an investment of 873,000 euros, ending the dispersion of facilities.
Emphasis has also been placed on expanding resources for vulnerable individuals, such as the creation of seven adapted rooms for minors and victims, and the expansion of the Victim Assistance Service (SAVA), which already operates in towns like Santa Fe, Motril, Almuñécar, Loja, and Guadix. The opening of a new Family Meeting Point in Motril further strengthens this support.
“"Granada needs agile justice, useful to citizens, and with the necessary resources: that is the path we are taking with actions after decades of paralysis."
