This incident follows a challenging weekend in the province, where two other forest fires broke out simultaneously last Saturday in Sorbas and Vélez-Rubio. In Sorbas, the deployment included four forest firefighter groups, two technicians, a fire engine, and an aerial effort similar to the current one. That fire was stabilized around 12:20 PM.
In Vélez-Rubio, firefighting efforts involved a forest firefighter group, a support group, an operations technician, a fire engine, and a light helicopter. The causes and affected area for these two previous fires have not yet been determined.
The recurrence of these fires coincides with the high forest risk campaign in Andalusia, during a summer marked by high temperatures and weather conditions conducive to the rapid spread of flames. The new outbreak in Las Tres Villas highlights the active level of vigilance and prevention maintained by the firefighting task force in the Almería province.
