The intervention, carried out jointly by several commands of the armed institution, including that of Huelva, focused on a location used for drug storage, known as a “nursery”.
The case is being handled by a court based in the city of Algeciras, Cádiz, and the operation remains open under a secrecy order. For now, the type of substance seized has not been specified, nor have any arrests been confirmed.
Local residents consulted indicated that the deployment of officers, some wearing balaclavas and armed, was very noticeable. The events took place after 12:00 PM this Tuesday, when the Canela neighborhood was practically sealed off, with checkpoints restricting access and exit for residents for a period.
The main entry was made into a terraced house, located just 50 meters from the Guadiana River, where the drugs were reportedly found hidden in a basement and guarded by two individuals. During the operation, drones were reportedly used for aerial surveillance of the area.
