The new children's park on Huerta de Mangüey street in Sanlúcar de Barrameda is now nearing completion. This project is the result of a collaboration agreement between the City Council of Sanlúcar and Caja Rural del Sur, which provided 42,000 euros for the relocation of the playground previously located on Huerta de Mergelina street.
The need to move the facilities stems from administrative and legal reasons, related to the expansion of the ‘Bajo Guadalquivir’ Child Development and Early Attention Center. The current playground site was affected by a land cession agreement signed in July 2022. The current municipal government led by IU has had to resolve this situation, criticizing the lack of foresight from the previous PSOE local administration.
The new municipal plot, situated in the same area of Sanlúcar, will ensure that children and their families can continue to enjoy a recreational space. The park retains all its play elements and urban furniture, with only the structural components, such as the foundation and the newly installed safety rubber flooring, being updated.
This initiative, which included a thorough cleaning of the surrounding area, aligns with the local government's objective of improving public spaces neighborhood by neighborhood, focusing on local improvements.
