The town of Trebujena is gearing up for the 2026 edition of its iconic Trebufestival, which will bring together over 500 artists in the heart of the municipality from April 24 to 26, reaffirming its street-based and multicultural character.

The organizers of the Trebufestival have confirmed that the event, scheduled from April 24 to 26, will retain its traditional location in the center of Trebujena. This decision, announced by the local government and the Diputación de Cádiz, eliminates any uncertainty regarding the venue, ensuring that the festival will remain a one hundred percent street event, integrated into the daily life of its residents and visitors, as it has been since its inception in 2007.
Ramón Galán, the town's mayor, accompanied by Juancho Ortiz, first vice-president of the Diputación, and Alba Zambrano, councilor for Culture, emphasized that the festival distinguishes itself from large commercial mega-festivals through its public and participatory management model. With over 500 confirmed artists, eleven stages, and a diverse program ranging from music to juggling, painting, and crafts, the Trebufestival is consolidating its position as a unique multicultural meeting point in Andalusia. This year's poster, created by Sevillian artist Natalia Girón and titled Music Performs Acrobatics at Trebufestival 2026, reflects the vitality of an event that will culminate with a performance by Amparanoia on April 26.

"This event moves away from the philosophy of large commercial mega-festivals to focus on a public and participatory management model."

One of the major novelties of this edition will be the twinning with Extremadura, which will bring parades of traditional costumes, dance performances, and Extremaduran gastronomic tastings to the streets of Trebujena. This cultural link will also serve as a heartfelt tribute to Robe, the unforgettable musician from Plasencia who passed away last December. Additionally, the festival will revive the batucada gathering with groups from various locations and maintain its commitment to family audiences through workshops and children's painting competitions, ensuring that all ages find their place in the celebration.
Musical diversity will once again be the hallmark of the event, with 37 selected bands covering genres as disparate as swing, Andalusian rock, reggae, cumbia, and New Orleans jazz. International groups like Caravanananana from Portugal and the French juggling company Crucru will share the stage with national bands such as Exessus, Los Farelli, or Mestizaje en viaje. This extensive program, publicly funded and supported by the voluntary efforts of residents who decorate their own streets, transforms Trebujena for three days into a showcase of artistic freedom and coexistence, a value that authorities deem vital to preserve to maintain the essence that differentiates it from any other festival in the province.
