Emergency services in the region responded to a road accident yesterday afternoon at kilometer 42 of the A-473 road. The incident, involving a head-on side collision between an agricultural vehicle and a heavy-duty truck, led to a significant mobilization in the town of Trebujena.
Eight members of the Cadiz Provincial Fire Consortium (CBPC), from the Sanlúcar and Jerez stations, quickly deployed to the scene. The situation was critical, with a trailer overturned on its side and its driver trapped inside the cabin due to the deformation of the vehicle's structure.
“"The truck driver is trapped, and we are collaborating with health services to stabilize, extract, and transfer them to the ambulance."
The priority was the safe stabilization and release of the driver, in a coordinated operation with health services. The firefighters' expertise was crucial in extricating the injured person, who was evacuated for medical attention after intensive fieldwork on April 17.
The road remained under surveillance to secure the area and prevent additional risks, such as liquid spills. The Trebujena and Jerez region, with its intense agricultural activity, sees high traffic of heavy machinery on conventional roads, underscoring the importance of extreme caution, especially during agricultural campaigns.
