The municipality of Sanlúcar has recorded its lowest unemployment figure in its entire historical series during the month of August. According to official data released by the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), the number of jobless people stood at 5,220, representing a decrease of 23 unemployed compared to the previous month.
This reduction positions Sanlúcar as the town in the Province of Cádiz with over 50,000 inhabitants where unemployment has decreased the most in August, both in percentage and absolute terms. This figure contrasts with the rise in unemployment recorded across the province.
The downward trend in unemployment in the city began in mid-2023. Since the start of the current municipal term, when there were 7,504 unemployed individuals, the figure has decreased by 2,284 people, signifying a drop of over 30% in just over three years.
