The Sanlúcar City Council has launched three strategic projects with a funding of €845,000 from the Plan Cádiz en Marcha, aimed at improving accessibility, urban cleaning, and living conditions in its neighborhoods.

The Sanlúcar City Council is developing three key projects for the improvement of neighborhoods, accessibility, and urban cleaning, as part of the Plan Cádiz en Marcha 2026. The funding, totaling €845,000, comes from the Provincial Council's treasury surplus.
The mayor of Sanlúcar, Carmen Álvarez, explained that the investment has prioritized actions in residential areas, allocating the majority to urban improvement and accessibility projects in densely populated zones, as well as public space cleaning.
The funds will be distributed as follows: €150,000 for the Humanization, Shading, and Accessibility Project in the City Center; €135,000 for the acquisition of 100 new solid urban waste containers (RSU); and €560,000 for the Comprehensive Urban Improvement and Accessibility Project in neighborhoods.
The neighborhoods of El Palomar, Virgen del Mar, and Barriada Andalucía will be the main beneficiaries of the comprehensive project, which aims to eliminate architectural barriers, improve sidewalks, renovate green areas, recover common spaces, and upgrade urban furniture. The goal is to dignify these urban environments, promote universal accessibility, and enhance the quality of life for residents.
In the city center, a humanization and shading project will be implemented in Ancha and San Juan streets, and Plaza de San Roque. These initiatives will create permanent shaded areas, improve climate comfort, boost commercial and hospitality activity, and prioritize pedestrian space and universal accessibility.
Furthermore, the purchase of 100 new RSU containers will replace deteriorated units, enhancing hygiene, sanitation, and the efficiency of the waste collection service, contributing to a more well-maintained urban image.
Carmen Álvarez emphasized that these projects align with the government team's clear priority to "continue improving neighborhoods, reinforcing accessibility, and moving towards a cleaner, friendlier, and more livable city." She thanked the Provincial Council for the extraordinary funding that will enable new investments and further progress in improving public spaces and municipal services.
