For two days, the Palacio Municipal Castillo de Luna in Rota became the epicenter of digital accessibility and inclusive design. Professionals, companies, and institutions from all over Spain gathered to share knowledge and experiences in this constantly evolving field.
The congress, organized by the Andalusian Association of Designers (AAD) in collaboration with the Rota City Council, has been positively evaluated by both organizers and attendees. It positions itself as one of the first specialized events in accessible digital design at a national level, setting an important precedent.
Activities included presentations, workshops, and immersive experiences, all focused on universal accessibility and user experience. Participants highlighted the opportunity to create spaces for reflection on equitable access to digital environments.
A key aspect of the event was its own level of accessibility. The organization implemented measures such as sign language interpreters, adapted spaces, and various resources to ensure the full participation of all attendees, regardless of their abilities.
The Rota City Council also highlighted the economic impact that the congress generated in the locality, boosting the hotel sector, suppliers, and other tourism and professional services during its celebration. This success consolidates the initiative with a view to future editions, aiming for Rota to continue being a benchmark in accessibility and digital innovation.
