On the 20th anniversary of the death of the universal artist from Chipiona, Movistar Plus premieres the documentary series 'La más grande', described as 'definitive' about her legacy.

The original documentary series, titled 'La más grande', premieres on Movistar Plus to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the passing of the acclaimed artist from Chipiona, which occurred on June 1, 2006. The production aims to offer an exhaustive portrait of 'La más grande', a cultural icon for several generations both in Spain and internationally.
Directed by Alexis Morante, the series benefits from the support and collaboration of Rocío Carrasco, the artist's daughter, who has provided valuable personal archive material. This includes photographs, videos, live performance recordings, and an unpublished autobiography covering her childhood up to the 1990s.
Starting June 25, viewers can discover how 'La más grande' was not only an exceptional artist with a unique voice but also a symbol of Spain's evolution. The series explores her transition from a classic folk singer to a modern, free, and assertive woman, highlighting her pursuit of love and happiness.
The documentary addresses themes such as her devotion to the Virgen de Regla, her song lyrics, her innovative wardrobe, her bravery, her feminism, the duality between the artist and the private person, her romantic relationships, her connection with the press, and her illness and death. The series, divided into 4 episodes, is presented as an immersive cinematic look through Rocío Jurado's own voice.

"Rocío Jurado's life is Cinema in capital letters. That's why we told it with a deep, immersive cinematic gaze through her own voice."

Rocío Carrasco has emphasized that her mother 'is more alive than ever' thanks to the public's memory and admiration. She highlights the importance of music and tributes that keep her legacy alive. The autobiography provided by Carrasco has helped complete aspects of the artist's life that were previously incomplete.
In addition to the documentary, other projects are planned to honor Rocío Jurado's memory. These include the potential release of an album with unreleased recordings in collaboration with Sony Music and the ongoing activity at the Rocío Jurado Museum in Chipiona, which anticipates a large influx of visitors this summer.
The autumn will see the return of the musical 'Rocío Jurado, el Musical' to theaters, featuring changes in the repertoire and scenography. Other projects include the book 'Rocío Jurado: La voz que nos hizo sentir libres' and a special broadcast on La 2's 'Tesoros de la tele', reviewing her most memorable television moments.
