Mayor Carmen Álvarez announced an investment exceeding €145,000 for the improvement of Calle Sevilla, specifically the section between Palma and Pedro Rodríguez streets. The project will involve repaving the road and renewing the sewage and water supply networks.
The council has secured a regional subsidy of over €115,000 for the renovation of the sewage system, the installation of storm drains, and the repaving of the road surface, which has been in poor condition for years. This project was drafted by the Municipal Urban Planning Department.
Additionally, the City Council will invest approximately €30,000 in upgrading the water supply network within the same stretch. These works will be carried out by Aqualia, the company managing the integrated water cycle, completing a long-needed overhaul for this street in Sanlúcar's Barrio Alto.
The mayor highlighted that these interventions are part of the 'Barrio a Barrio' initiative, underscoring the local government's commitment to enhancing public spaces. Carmen Álvarez stated that by "caring for the immediate surroundings," they improve the daily lives of the residents.
