The event, organized by the City Council, involved ten associations from across the province and three collaborating entities, including the CER program for feline colony management and Sanlúcar Recicla. The fair served as a meeting point to raise awareness of the work done by animal shelters and to facilitate contact between animals seeking homes and potential adopting families.
The mayor, Carmen Álvarez, visited the fair and highlighted the initiative as "a magnificent annual initiative of the Animal Welfare Delegation, led by its delegate, Carmen Pozo". She emphasized the City Council's commitment to animal awareness and welfare.
Carmen Álvarez also noted the broad participation, calling the fair "a benchmark for the province", and stressed the involvement of citizens, especially young people, who are "increasingly aware of animal welfare".
"We are very pleased to see how citizens collaborate and get involved in this initiative," stated the mayor, who particularly valued that the fair helps advance one of the local government's main objectives: promoting responsible adoption and giving a second chance to animals needing a home.
