The Sala Espacio Vacío of the Colectivo Cultural Espacio Vacío in Chipiona is hosting the final days of the pictorial exhibition ‘Fragmentos 2.0’ by artist Antonio Rueda. The exhibition, which closes the summer season in the emblematic venue located at Casa Manolo-Peña El Chusco, will be open to the public until September 27th.
‘Fragmentos 2.0’ is a continuation of last year's exhibition, ‘Fragmentos’, where the artist already explored details of Chipiona imbued with personal emotions and memories. In this new installment, Rueda maintains his focus on the local environment, but directs a significant part of his inspiration towards the marks left by the sea on the coast.
For this series, the artist has drawn inspiration from photographs by Manuel Durán, known as El Pollo, which served as a starting point to transfer the shapes and textures that appear on the sand when the tide recedes onto the canvas. Rueda observes in these water marks vegetal and biological forms that evoke organic components and living matter.

The artist has aimed to capture these natural marks through color, respecting the forms that arise spontaneously. The exhibition thus establishes a dialogue between art and nature, using water and waves as the origin of the compositions. Rueda's work is characterized by a prominent use of color and the exploration of different plastic languages.
In addition to the works inspired by the sea, ‘Fragmentos 2.0’ also includes paintings of monuments and iconographic elements representative of Chipiona's identity. These pieces are approached from a personal perspective, with surrealist and pop influences, where color once again takes center stage. The collection is completed with abstract oil paintings on cardboard.
