The preacher for the 2027 Chipiona Carnival, Victoria Cebrián, has unveiled the chosen theme for her proclamation, scheduled for January 30th in Plaza de Andalucía. Cebrián has invited citizens to transform Chipiona into an Old West setting, immersing the celebration in the gold rush era.
The proposal encourages Chipiona's residents to dress up as sheriffs, bandits, bounty hunters, or cowboys. Cebrián clarified that the theme does not include Native Americans, as it has been used previously in the Carnival. The idea of the West has always appealed to the preacher for a proclamation's staging, and she will now have the opportunity to bring it to life.
Cebrián emphasized that costumes should not hinder participation, noting the theme's broad scope allows for costumes made from readily available household items. The theme has been announced in advance due to the proximity of the proclamation date.

The preacher learned of her appointment on September 16th, a piece of news that surprised and moved her. Her lifelong connection and passion for Carnival led her to accept the commission with enthusiasm, aiming to meet expectations. Victoria Cebrián, 28 years old and a mother of two, was named Piconera Mayor del Carnaval in 2024 and now faces the challenge of being the voice that kicks off a Carnival themed around the Wild West.
