The Los Lagos Costa Ballena Chipiona disc golf course will be the venue for the Spanish Disc Golf Championship from October 10 to 12. This event will bring together the best players of this increasingly popular sport from across the country.
The championship's celebration will see participants arrive in Chipiona and Costa Ballena in the days leading up to the competition, aiming to train and prepare. The event is expected to boost sports activity and visitor numbers to the area.
The organization is handled by Club Disc Golf Chipiona and Disc Golf Puerta Doñana, with the collaboration of the Sports Delegation of the Chipiona City Council and the Conservation Urban Entity of Costa Ballena.
This marks the second occasion that the Los Lagos Costa Ballena Chipiona course will host the Spanish Disc Golf Championship.
Disc golf, based on traditional golf principles, uses flying discs instead of balls and clubs, and baskets instead of holes. The objective is to complete each hole with the fewest possible throws.
The competition takes place outdoors on specially designed courses equipped with tee areas and baskets distributed throughout the course. While different types of discs exist for various situations, starting out only requires a single disc and a suitable practice space.
