The municipality of Salobreña has launched an informative campaign to promote correct waste separation in homes, visiting neighborhoods such as Alminares, La Caleta, and the old town.
Under the slogan 'Salobreña Sostenible' (Sustainable Salobreña), and executed by Anthesis within the framework of PAPREC, the initiative aims to foster more efficient waste management and raise citizen awareness about the importance of recycling correctly from home. Environmental informers will visit households over the coming weeks, combining morning and afternoon schedules to maximize contact.
The team will offer a dual approach: one of gratitude for residents who already recycle properly and one of support for those who need guidance. The itinerary will begin in Alminares, continue in La Caleta, and conclude in the old town, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the area.
Additionally, mobile information points have been established. From May 18th to 22nd, they will be located on Avenida del Mediterráneo, near the Repsol gas station. Subsequently, from May 25th to 29th, they will be at Plaza Juan Carlos I, next to the City Hall, where the 'Salobreña Sostenible' exhibition will also be on display.

"The door-to-door system offers clear advantages over the traditional model of public bins, as it allows for increased selective collection, reduction of improper waste, and improvement of the urban environment's cleanliness, while also fostering greater citizen involvement."
“
"All of this contributes to more efficient management and a model aligned with the principles of the circular economy. However, its success largely depends on citizen participation, which is why these actions seek to reinforce neighborhood co-responsibility."
The campaign highlights the positive reception of the door-to-door system and emphasizes the need to support residents through this adaptation process. Citizens are encouraged to actively participate in the visits and take advantage of the information team's proximity to resolve doubts and enhance their involvement.
Salobreña reaffirms its commitment to a more efficient and sustainable waste management model, continuing with previous initiatives based on the circular economy and environmental protection, which require citizen collaboration.
