The municipality of Torrenueva Costa will experience one of its most important weeks of the year with the celebration of the Fiestas del Carmen, taking place from July 14 to 18. The program combines religious fervor, fun, and activities designed for all ages, spread across various parts of the town.
The central day of the festivity is July 16, dedicated to the patron saint of sailors. On this day, the Virgen del Carmen will parade through the streets in a land procession, after being taken out on a boat the previous day, July 15.
The official inauguration will be on Tuesday, July 14, at 10:00 PM in the Plaza de las Marismas with the opening speech by Alfredo Amestoy Eguiguren, followed by music and performances. The party will continue at 11:00 PM in the Recinto Ferial (Acapulco area) with Trío Voltaje, La Tentación, and DJ Murxas.
On Wednesday, July 15, activities begin early with a charanga band in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento at 8:00 AM. At 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, children can enjoy water inflatables in the Plaza de las Marismas. At 8:00 PM, a mass in honor of the Virgen del Carmen will be held in the Plaza San Juan de la Cruz, preceding her maritime procession. The night at the Recinto Ferial will feature Trío New Magic, Orquesta Azahara, and DJ Rubén Buta.
Thursday, July 16, the main day, includes the morning mass at the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen at 12:00 PM. During the morning, there will be water activities and a foam party in the Plaza de las Marismas. At 9:00 PM, the land procession of the patron saint will parade through the streets, accompanied by the Agrupación Musical Virgen del Carmen de Torrenueva Costa. The festive night at the Recinto Ferial will be enlivened by Trío Sensación, Orquesta Rebelión, and DJ Manu Castro.
On Friday, July 17, the morning charanga will return at 8:00 AM from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, and water inflatables will be available for children at 11:00 AM. In the afternoon, at 5:00 PM, a ribbon race will be held, and at 6:30 PM, popular games will take place in the Plaza San Juan de la Cruz. The evening will feature Trío Espiral, Orquesta Maxims, and DJ Murxas at the Ferial.
The festivities will conclude on Saturday, July 18. The last morning charanga will depart from the Ayuntamiento at 8:00 AM. At 1:00 PM, the Feria de Día will begin in El Hotelito with various activities. For the younger ones, there will be a foam party (1:30 PM) and water inflatables (4:00 PM) in the El Hotelito promenade area. The closing of the Recinto Ferial will feature Trío Deja Vu, Orquesta La Mundial, and DJ Rubén Buta.
