The Teatro Calderón in Motril will host a concert by the World Youth Music Orchestra this Friday, September 4th, featuring fifty young musicians from over 25 nationalities, as part of the Neorama Festival.

The Councilor for Culture of the Motril City Council, Miguel Ángel Muñoz Pino, presented the arrival of the World Youth Music Orchestra to the city, which will perform within the first edition of the Neorama Festival.
This ensemble, created in 1949, has seen thousands of young musicians from around the world pass through it. For this occasion, the orchestra will comprise around 50 musicians aged between 18 and 30 from over 25 nationalities, reflecting the international spirit and cultural exchange that characterizes Youth Music.
Muñoz Pino emphasized the importance of culture and music, and highlighted the relationship between Motril and Youth Music, recalling its role in the musical education of generations of Motril residents.
The president of Youth Music of Spain, Andrea González, thanked the Motril City Council for hosting one of the festival's most significant concerts, noting that the performance will also celebrate the 50 years of Youth Music of Motril, one of the organization's oldest local associations.
Andrea explained that the Neorama Festival, held from September 3rd to 5th in Granada, aims to bring together and showcase emerging young musical talent from Spain, featuring 40 concerts in 18 venues and 12 training activities.
The coordinator of the first edition of the Neorama Festival, Luis Barbero, expressed his special satisfaction in bringing this concert to the Teatro Calderón, a venue closely linked to his personal and musical journey, recalling his beginnings in Youth Music of Motril.
Barbero highlighted the exceptional nature of the ensemble, which has been conducted by renowned figures such as Leonard Bernstein, and thanked the audience's response, as tickets sold out within days.
The concert coincides with the 50th anniversary of Youth Music of Motril, founded in 1976. Its representative, Antonio Peralta, described the World Orchestra's performance as 'the best cherry on top' to conclude the celebrations.
The Motril City Council encouraged residents and visitors to enjoy this exceptional event, which will allow the audience to experience an orchestra composed of young international performers and also serves as a recognition of the trajectory of Youth Music of Motril and its contribution to the city's culture.
