Playa de Poniente in Motril will host a free concert bringing opera and zarzuela to the public on July 23rd at 10:00 PM. The event, organized by the Motril City Council, Fundación Caja Rural Granada, and Teatro Real, will feature young lyrical talents.
The initiative, named 'La Carroza del Real', uses a mobile stage inspired by Lorca's Barraca, aiming to promote lyrical music throughout Spain. This project, which has covered over 80,000 km, seeks to bring the Teatro Real stage closer to citizens.
The repertoire will include famous arias and duets by composers such as Puccini, Bizet, Mozart, and Verdi, culminating with the toast from La Traviata. The performance will feature soprano Patricia Rijnhout, mezzo-soprano Yasmin Forastiero, tenor Pablo Martínez Gil, and baritone Alonso Gabarrús, accompanied on piano by Álvaro Martín.
The mayor of Motril, Luisa García Chamorro, highlighted the event's importance for the city and its summer programming, thanking the Fundación Caja Rural Granada for their collaboration. The Councilor for Culture, Miguel Ángel Muñoz, described the event as a "luxury and a privilege" for the town.
Evaristo Romero, representative of the Fundación Caja Rural Granada, emphasized culture's role as a tool for transformation and social cohesion, encouraging citizens to attend this free spectacle.
