The thirtieth matchday of the league championship in Tercera RFEF Group IX has placed CF Motril at the top of the standings. The team managed by Chus Hevia secured a valuable victory in their visit to El Palo FC, a result that, combined with Mijas Las Lagunas' stumble, allows them to lead the table by two points.
The match between CF Motril and El Palo FC, which ended 0-1, was an intense game with moments of tension. The only goal of the match came in the fortieth minute, scored by Carlos León, who put the Motril team ahead. Despite Carlos León's own expulsion for a double yellow card, the team managed to maintain their lead until the end, securing three crucial points.
Meanwhile, Mijas Las Lagunas could only manage a goalless draw in their away game against Martos CD, dropping two points that cost them the lead. With only four matchdays remaining in the league, CF Motril now stands with 58 points, two more than their closest pursuer.
Other notable results from the day included a one-all draw in the derby between CD Huétor Vega and Arenas de Armilla, where Jorge Vela scored for the home side and Migue Bolívar rescued a point for the visitors. Additionally, the Granada derby played at the Granada CF Sports City between Recreativo Granada and Churriana de la Vega ended in a draw that did not benefit either team in their aspirations.
