This action, part of a municipal credit supplement exceeding 1.3 million euros for public space improvements, will fund the installation of new chillers and the development of the necessary technical project. The primary goal is to optimize the venue's climate control, particularly during the hottest months of the year.
The mayor of Almuñécar, Juan José Ruiz Joya, emphasized the council's ongoing commitment to maintaining and upgrading facilities. "Our responsibility does not end when we launch a facility; it continues every day," he stated, acknowledging that interior temperatures have not always been adequate for traders and users.
Ruiz Joya highlighted the Municipal Market as a key initiative by the council to support traditional commerce and economic recovery. "We want a market full of life, customers, and traders; a competitive, comfortable, and attractive market," declared the mayor, assuring that identified improvement needs will be promptly addressed.
Finally, the mayor stressed that this investment also signifies respect for the traders who have committed to the new municipal market. "Traders don't need controversies; they need solutions. And this investment is precisely that: a solution and a commitment to continuously improve the market," he concluded.
