The new infrastructure, long-demanded by residents, now allows for more comfortable, safe, and accessible transit between the two beaches. This development represents a significant advancement for the Granada municipality by removing one of the main connection difficulties.
The mayor of Gualchos-Castell de Ferro, Toñi Antequera, expressed her satisfaction with the launch of this new infrastructure, calling it a "before and after" for the connection between the beaches and fulfilling an important commitment to residents.
Antequera highlighted that the walkway addresses a historic demand and improves the quality of life for residents, as well as the experience for visitors. A barrier that hindered passage has been removed, allowing anyone to traverse the stretch comfortably and safely, which is especially beneficial for the elderly, those with reduced mobility, or families with children.
The mayor also emphasized the City Council's effort in processing authorizations and coordinating between different administrations to carry out the project. With this opening, the council continues to focus on improving accessibility, modernizing public spaces, and offering a more attractive coastline.
