The Gómez Quesada family, born and raised in the municipality, will officially start the San Miguel Fair of Torremolinos this Friday, September 25th. The pregon will take place at 8:30 PM in the Plaza de España, followed by a flamenco recital by Borja Cortés, the screening of the inaugural video, and the lighting of the artistic illumination.
The Fairgrounds will host attractions for all ages, while the Municipal Auditorium Príncipe de Asturias will feature nightly concerts. On Friday, Falete will perform, on Saturday the 26th, Los Aslándticos, on Sunday Pepe y Vizio, and on Monday the 28th, the folk group Juan Navarro along with dance groups. The Children's Municipal Booth will offer daily entertainment, theater, and workshops from 8:30 PM, and the senior citizens' and associations' booth will feature music and dancing with the Orquesta Metrópolis and Araceli González from 10:30 PM.
Young people will enjoy the RECREO festival at the Plaza de Toros on Fridays and Saturdays from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM, with a performance by Jessy Ojeda on Saturday. The daytime fair will take place in the town center, with live music and popular prices in the Plaza de la Unión Europea and Plaza de San Miguel. The Plaza de la Nogalera will host performances by groups such as Money Makers, Capitán Vinilo, and Mister Propper. The fair will conclude on Tuesday the 29th with a concert by El Kanka at 8 PM in the Plaza Pablo Ruiz Picasso.
Other activities include a Horseback Ride and II Carriage Competition, a flamenco sevillanas master class, and an equestrian show at the Plaza de Toros. On September 28th, the traditional floral offering to San Miguel Arcángel will take place.
On Tuesday, September 29th, the patron saint's day, a mass will be held at 9:30 AM in the Plaza San Miguel, followed by a procession accompanied by the IV Tercio of the Legion of Ronda.
The fair stands out for its inclusive and accessible nature. The pregon will include a sign language interpreter. In the attraction area, music will be silenced from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and identification bracelets and children's hearing protectors will be provided. A sensitive path will be set up to access the attractions, avoiding intense sound and light stimuli. The use of pyrotechnic articles is prohibited.
The Municipal Auditorium will feature a family-friendly space for people with functional diversity, a specific platform, and accessible parking (reservations at Culture Department, 952.379.553), as well as a nursing room. There will also be an area for people with reduced mobility in the Plaza Pablo Ruiz Picasso for the concert by El Kanka and the show ‘Ritmo a caballo’. The program will be accessible via QR code, and a braille map of the fairgrounds will be available thanks to ONCE.
Violet and rainbow points will be set up on the main street of the fairgrounds during the night, and a 'Movida' Support Service point will be located on the side of the auditorium.
The ornamental lighting, composed of over 540,000 low-consumption light points, will enhance the entrances and spaces with LED technology. It includes a luminous entrance archway with the 'Feria de San Miguel' sign, galleries of arches, carnation motifs, and flamenco arches on San Miguel street.
The Torremolinos Despega APP offers a virtual chat, ‘Pregunta a Miguel’, available 24 hours and multilingual, to answer questions about fair schedules, locations, and artists.
The security device will consist of 95 local police officers, 9 officers, and 5 sub-inspectors. During the procession on San Miguel's day, five officers will be present along the route.
