The Investigating Court number 5 of Marbella has ordered the imprisonment of the driver involved in the incident. The arrested individual, a foreign national with no ties to Spain and no known address, is being investigated for alleged offenses including reckless homicide, driving under the influence of narcotics, and leaving the scene of an accident.
As confirmed by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA), the duty judge ordered his imprisonment at the request of the public prosecutor, citing his lack of ties and residence in the country. The detainee responded to questions from the parties and provided explanations in his defense. The investigation will continue at court number 4 of Marbella.
The incident occurred at 6:45 AM near the Lomas de Río Verde urbanization, on Marbella's Golden Mile. The vehicle driven by the arrested man was a high-end gray BMW with Belgian license plates. Several individuals alerted the Andalusian Emergency Service 112 about the collision between a motorcycle and a car.
The deceased motorcyclist, who was on his way to his job at the Marbella City Council, suffered a severe impact and fell to the ground seriously injured. The Traffic Judicial Police of the Local Police of Marbella have launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
