The charity initiative will take place on June 21st in the parking lot of the La Cala boulevard. The event aims to raise awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and gather resources for its study.
The ribbon, to be made by bakers Salvador and Tejeros, will be 50 meters long and filled with semi-cold cream. Funds will be raised through the sale of portions of the pastry and beverages offered at the event.
“"The objective, in addition to raising funds, is for the population to become aware and support those affected by this disease."
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is an incurable neurodegenerative disease affecting motor neurons. In Spain, it is estimated that around 4,000 people suffer from it, with approximately 900 new cases diagnosed annually. The condition causes progressive muscle atrophy, impacting mobility and basic functions like eating, speaking, or breathing, while cognitive faculties remain intact.
To entertain attendees and attract a larger crowd, a stage will be set up for a performance by Víctor Rojas's dance group.
