More than thirty Michelin-starred chefs have shared their knowledge of healthy eating with a hundred schoolchildren in Benahavís, as part of the eighth edition of ChefsForChildren, a charity event that will allocate funds to the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER).

The initiative, held at the Anantara Villa Padierna hotel in Benahavís, brought together 100 students from Daidín and Atalaya schools, along with 50 minors from FEDER. During the day, participants learned to prepare fruit skewers, salads, and tarts in various children's workshops, promoting healthy eating habits in a fun and engaging way.
The event began with a gastronomic forum attended by 36 of the 65 Michelin-starred chefs collaborating in the day. The organizer, Pilar Candil from Lima Comunicación, highlighted that the project, under the slogan “Eating healthy is fun,” seeks to inspire, educate, and care for the youngest, emphasizing the importance of gastronomy and solidarity.

"This solidarity project unites gastronomy and children, positioning itself as a tool to inspire, educate, and care for the little ones."

In this eighth edition, ChefsForChildren has placed special emphasis on addressing rare diseases, noting that they affect 300 million people worldwide, 3 million of whom reside in Spain. The day will culminate with a gala dinner where 65 Michelin-starred chefs, including local Málaga chefs in charge of designing the eight-course menu, will raise funds for FEDER for 360 guests.
The president of FEDER, Juan Carrión, expressed gratitude for his entity's selection as a beneficiary, highlighting gastronomy's role as a source of hope and the importance of early diagnosis, equitable treatments, and research promotion. Similarly, the director of the Anantara Villa Padierna hotel, Javier Friera, emphasized that the event shares the establishment's values of human connection, culture, well-being, and social commitment.
Public administrations have also shown their support. The Junta de Andalucía, through ‘Gusto del Sur’, is participating for the first time. The territorial delegate for Health and Consumer Affairs in Málaga, Carlos Bautista, and the mayor of Benahavís, José Antonio Mena, highlighted the event's relevance for society and for promoting the municipality, respectively. The provincial deputy of the Diputación de Málaga, Esperanza González, underscored the value of the ‘Sabor a Málaga’ brand and the province's products.
