The company Arenal Marbella Toros has unveiled the bullfighting program for the local arena, highlighting the presence of a significant bullfighting personality. The official presentation of the summer posters took place with the attendance of representatives from the business group and local authorities, including the Mayor of Marbella and the Councillor for Festivities.
“"Marbella wants bullfights."
The events will commence on June 13, coinciding with the San Bernabé Fair, featuring a lineup that includes the main figure, Alejandro Talavante, and David de Miranda, fighting bulls from El Freixo. Subsequently, on August 7, the Corrida de Candiles will take place, again featuring the same bullfighting personality, joined by Manzanares and Aaron Palacio, with cattle from Cayetano Muñoz.
“"This is a commitment to youth and to successful ranches."
A spokesperson for the organizing company emphasized the shared “enthusiasm” between the company, the Marbella City Council, and the Málaga Provincial Council. They explained that the company's goal was to ensure Marbella's presence on the most important dates of the bullfighting calendar. Regarding the main figure's double participation, it was noted that the bullfighter expressed satisfaction with the organization in Marbella, stating that “things are being done well in Marbella, and I cannot miss either of the two days.”
Continuing the tradition of dedicating the season to a historical master, this year will honor Manolo González, a leading figure in bullfighting with a strong connection to Marbella. Various tributes will be paid to him throughout the year. The music for both events will be provided by the Miraflores-Gibraljaire band from Málaga capital, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary.
The Mayor of Marbella, who opened the event, highlighted the importance of the main bullfighting figure, noting that “he is loved, respected, and valued.” She also praised the efforts of the Marbella Festivities Delegation to consolidate the bullring as a landmark in the city.
Tickets for the events can be purchased online through the official website or at the box office. For the San Bernabé Fair, box offices open from Monday, June 8, and for the Corrida de Candiles, from Saturday, August 1. Prices include special options for young people and retirees, with rates starting from 25 and 30 euros respectively.
