Marbella City Council has begun improvement works on Lorenzo Morito Romero avenue, located in the El Gamonal urbanization. This action aims to increase road safety and enhance accessibility and infrastructure on a key connecting stretch between San Pedro Alcántara and Benahavís.
The interventions are being carried out following the identification of issues by residents, municipal technicians, and the Local Police, who had noted problems related to speeding, traffic hazards, and the lack of safe pedestrian routes.
Among the main improvements, a total of 2,100 square meters of sidewalk will be constructed on both sides of the road, an infrastructure that did not previously exist and will ensure pedestrian accessibility in compliance with current regulations.
Additionally, 6,500 square meters of roadway will be paved, widening its section to approximately seven meters. The works have an estimated execution period of five months.
