Since last September 9, residents can access details about the municipal delegation's animal welfare service. The information is available by clicking on the ‘Animal Welfare’ banner on the council's website, which also provides points of contact.
The Department of Environment, led by Pilar Zúñiga, is implementing various specific actions to comply with current regulations. These projects, both completed and ongoing, include the management of feline colonies with census and CER (Capture, Sterilization, and Return) plans.
Other initiatives underway include agreements with local animal shelters and veterinary clinics, the establishment of an Animal Rescue Service, improvement of public spaces, and public awareness campaigns.
