The presence of Felipe VI in the Malaga town of Casares for a friend's wedding was one of the most talked-about moments of the event. The monarch, who attended alone, fully integrated into the family celebration, participating in the dancing and staying at the reception until the late-night supper.
The wedding celebration took place in a country estate (cortijo) in the aforementioned town, close to the province of Cádiz. Guests were surprised by the King's appearance, who at all times acted as one more, paying tribute to his friend.
The musical group Los Alpresa, well-known in spring fairs, was in charge of enlivening the party after the banquet. Their music encouraged all guests, including the King, to join in the collective choreographies. Don Felipe even went on stage, thanking the invitation and showing his usual closeness by greeting those present.
Videos and photos of the King's relaxed appearance quickly circulated on social media. The morning program Espejo Público on Antena 3 reported on the news, highlighting that the monarch danced “with everyone” and enjoyed the music, demonstrating his fondness for joining in dances in his private life.
This event in Casares is not the first time the King has attended an event with friends without the company of Queen Letizia. During the last Holy Week, the entire royal family surprised the public by appearing among the attendees of a Good Friday procession in the Carabanchel neighborhood of Madrid, also showing their proximity to citizens.
