The activity, which will begin on October 13th, will take place every Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the facilities of the Elderly Area, located on Blanca Paloma street. Interested individuals can register between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM.
The Councilor for Families, Equality, and Social Welfare, Cristina Bornao, and the representative of the Red Cross, Claudia Hernández, presented the details of this initiative, which is highly sought after by the town's seniors.
Bornao highlighted that the workshop promotes exercise and maintains physical and cognitive abilities, while also having a significant social component, fostering encounters, the exchange of experiences, and the creation of new bonds to combat isolation.
The program includes guidelines for a healthy life, memory reinforcement, stimulation of mobility, coordination, senses, social relationships, self-esteem, and intergenerational connections.
The Active Maintenance Workshop addresses the well-being of seniors from a comprehensive perspective, combining physical work with cognitive and psychosocial activities such as games and coexistence dynamics.
The collaboration of the Fuengirola Red Cross is fundamental in offering seniors a space for participation, learning, and coexistence.
