The III Javier Imbroda Memorial will mark the start of Unicaja's preseason. The event, featuring teams from Malaga and Melilla, will be divided into two matches. The first game will pit Txus Vidorreta's team against Melilla Baloncesto on Sunday, August 30th at 8:00 PM in the Pabellón Javier Imbroda.
Two weeks later, on Sunday, September 13th at 6:00 PM, Unicaja Mijas will face Melilla Ciudad del Deporte La Salle at the same venue. Both games will be broadcast live on 101TV's platforms.
The memorial was presented by Melilla's Minister of Education, Youth, and Sport, Miguel Ángel Fernández Bonnmaison, and Unicaja's president, Antonio Jesús López Nieto. López Nieto expressed his satisfaction with starting the season in Melilla and highlighted the city's importance as an event venue for the Malaga club's upcoming 50th anniversary in 2027.
The first duel will see Unicaja play against Melilla Baloncesto, a team aiming to return to the Primera FEB. The second match will feature Unicaja Mijas against Melilla Ciudad del Deporte La Salle, two teams that competed for promotion to LF Endesa last season.
Invitations to attend the matches, free of charge, will be available from Monday, August 24th, at the Department of Sports headquarters and at Banco Unicaja branches in Melilla.
The Autonomous City of Melilla will offer a tourist voucher with a 75% discount on travel and accommodation for attendees. This discount applies to transport (plane or ferry) and stays, and can be requested via the website bonosmelilla.es, by submitting ID and a declaration of responsibility, and selecting the Halcón Viajes agency in Malaga.
